This presentation is intended to provide an overview of the key features of PremiumLife™/PremiumLife™ Plus strategies. This presentation provides general guidance on some legal or tax issues; it is not a tax opinion or legal advice. The information presented here is not specific to any individual’s personal circumstances. UFC does not offer tax advice, and taxpayers should seek the advice of their own tax and legal professionals regarding their specific circumstances. This document may contain a general analysis of tax issues and information to support the promotion of strategies that may benefit a taxpayer. This document is not intended for, and cannot be used by, any taxpayer for the purpose of avoiding tax penalties. This document does not cover all of the terms and  conditions of the policies or riders included in the strategy. The life insurance policy within the strategy you select describes coverage under the policy and any exclusions and limitations. Please contact your financial professional for more information about costs and coverage, how to keep your policy in force, and what could cause your policy to lapse. Availability of life insurance policies and benefits may vary by state. Information and opinions in this document have been obtained from sources believed to be reliable, but we cannot guarantee their accuracy or completeness. Opinions expressed are for general information purposes only and are subject to change without notice. Any indexes mentioned in this document are unmanaged and not available for direct investment. And, past performance is no guarantee of future results. Premium financing has tax implications and you should consult your legal and tax advisors to help you understand the tax issues relevant to your situation. Loans and withdrawals may generate a tax liability, reduce cash value and the death benefit or cause the policy to lapse. Please refer to your policy for specific details. Premium financing is associated with certain risks including, but not limited to, interest rate risk, collateral requirements, loan renewal risk, and risk the lender could fail to make premium payments. In addition, if the policyholder fails to maintain the terms of the loan, the loan could default and the insurance contract could be discontinued. The net cost of a premium financing loan could be negative if the credits earned are greater than the interest charged. However, the net cost of the loan could be larger if the amount credited is less than the interest charged. Premium financing strategies require medical underwriting and financial underwriting. The applications for insurance and for premium financing are two separate transactions; and neither the premium financing lender nor the insurance company are obliged to offer life insurance coverage or a loan at any time. Policy loans from life insurance policies generally do not create income tax  liabilities if the contract is not considered a Modified Endowment Contract (MEC) under Section 7702A of the Internal Revenue Code. Loans or withdrawals taken from a MEC are taxable to the extent the cash value of the policy exceeds premiums paid in. Distributions may be subject to federal income tax and a 10% penalty tax if distributions are taken before age 59 1/2. Please consult a tax professional for personalized advice.
